RICHARDA
Air con light was blinking away so thought it may need a regas however I did this at work today and the light is still blinking away. Anyone know what this means or could it indicate a number of things? Many thanks Rich
Scooter
I think the aircon light flashes when the aircon pulley to engine speed is out by a determined amount. It could indicate the aircon compressor is partially seizing. If you've got the right spanner/socket (14mm) you could remove the fan/aux belt and check the pulley. Scooter
just been reading the manual, the seizing part could be a bit OTT on my part. Basically the system has a built in shut down of the aircon system (by turning off the compressor) if the ratio of the aircon pump to engine is too different. Does the inner part of the aircon pulley engauge when the aircon is turned on?

jaymdee
Air con light was blinking away so thought it may need a regas however I did this at work today and the light is still blinking away. Anyone know what this means or could it indicate a number of things? Many thanks Rich Rich, Did you get this sorted as mine's started doing this. What was the problem. I've been assuming it was just needing a re-gas, not an actual problem. Any answers would be great. J
RICHARDA
No mate I have'nt had time to sort this yet. Ideally I'd like to get rid of the AC altogether as I rarely use it. Just read your post and mine seems the same, I switched the AC on whilst driving the other day and the belt squealed and slipped just as you described. Let me know how you get on. Cheers Rich
jaymdee
Damn, was hoping you could tell me. I'll probably get it re-gassed and see if that's it. I looked into the spyglass and saw nothing, so I think it's empty, maybe a leak?
RICHARDA
I too thought the blinking light meant a regas so I did this at work but the light still blinks, I think the air con pulley is the problem.
