Matt B
All, Any comments or feedback on these? I'm thinking of getting the six pots with 355mm discs. They seem to be good value and look the dogs bollocks. See Pic. Any feedback is greatly recieved. Cheers Brakes
womble
There was quite a discussion on these a little while ago with a few mixed opinions, I'm not sure how to do a link to it but if you use the search facility (using Hi-spec brakes) it will find it for you. Wez
Hiya, I have HI-Spec bell and rotors to fit standard UK sized brakes and they are not that good, I recently did a trackday and they got a little better once I got some heat into them but do not give 100% confidence. If you want a brake upgrade I would get either AP or Brembo, CW does both of these or standard UK brakes.

At a price ! I seem to recall they were a tad on the pricey side (but then again, £10 is expensive for me at the moment!!! )
Wez
Yeah they are more expensive but if price is a factor and your choice was HI-Spec or Standard UK (stock size) I know I would try standard UK rotors next.
Matt B
Right, I know where you guys are coming from but, they come in at: HI-SPEC £1092+VAT 355mm 6Pots AP's £ 1573+VAT 356mm 6Pots Brembo's £ 2K+ or 4K inc VAT for Fronts and rears from CW. UK's £800 ish I think As you can see there is quite a bit of difference in price. I think the UK's look terrible in a short time as the bells rust and the calipers are not all that. I know they stop fairly well but not as well as six pots I would'nt have thought??? It just seems that for value the Hi-Spec's do well for look's and I assume performance. If anyone does not agree then I would like to know before I take the plunge. It's just that £800 seems high for standard Toyota brakes that don't look all that to me???? Maybe I've got it all wrong. Darren
Matt, How about fitting Porterfield race pads and saving your money? I had a real bee in my bonnet about changing mine till I fitted my race pads doesn't seem so important anymore! Darren

Cheers Well, you get what you pay for. The aftermarket 6 potters being 50% less than the cheapest of the known-good brands should indicate 'approach with caution'. And if you are short on cash the UK spec brakes are a fantastic bit of kit for the money, they will withstand a track day so road use won't bother them much. And if you are short on cash why are you wanting to spend *more* on a possibly lesser product just because it looks nicer? And don't expect shorter stopping distances with 6-pots over 4-pots If you want to know why, reach for the search button. -Ian

UK's £800 ish I think You should speak to CW about replacement rotors only as the UK calipers are fine as already pointed out. CW can do AP/Brembo bell and rotors (fully floating what ever that means) to fit standard UK spec brakes.
Scooter
Matt i've seen cars with drilled/slotted non corroded disks (like Wez describes) and uk spec calipers (there's one such car at Magnum Motors in Farnborough at the moment if you fancy looking at them in the flesh) Also you can paint the uk calipers as i remember someone (poss Gordon Flynn?) doing nicely in the past. Wez
I will upload some pics of my HI-Spec brakes when I get home if you would like to see them. They look the part but I wouldn`t recommend them for hard use.

Paul Whiffin
Go with the KAD's, they are very good indeedy, everyone whos had a set love them, very very good quality, quick turn around and improve your braking no end, 356mm are £1460.16 + VAT. And unlike AP and Brembo they fit under most wheel designs which is always nice!
