mattanna
Hi all even though i could not get my steering wheel off today, i WILL:( be doing it tomorrow, just a query about earthing. There is only one wire for horn on my non airbag steering wheel, attached are pics of momo horn and earth wire. Do i earth it by putting the steel ring around the base of the horn so it is touching the metal connector or do i use the earth wire, if so where does that go? Daston
ah I had this prob when doing mine today, the earth is connected to the spring so no need to do that, however with mine I had to clean the black off the spring to get a good contact for it to work
mattanna
No need to do what, i just need to know exactly where the spring or the wire goes? cheers Matt
Daston
Ok you dont need to use the wire to earth it as the spring should be in contact with one of the copper plates (used a current meter thing to find out which one) all you need to do is connect the horn contact to the other copper part and bobs your uncle. mattanna
So i take it that the spring goes round the base of the horn and contacts the copper plate and when the horn is installed the spring contacts the metal part of the boss? Daston
ah sorry the spring I was refuring too is the one inside the horn unit (the one that springs the horn button back up)
