Seeing dots

OK, just been discussing this at work. Seems to be really common, so here's a poll lets see who gets it.

Best described as floating dots and shapes that are transparent, kinda look like organisms under a microscope. If you keep your line of vision still they float around (usually down) and if you blink they move.

General opinion is that it's dust on your eye but interested in who has it.

I had a migraine a few weeks ago and notice it more now.

Funnily enough I had an opticians appointment a few weeks later and asked about them and if I should be concerned. She said they are common as muck and are actually called "floaters" *snigger*. Just said that she had loads and in time you just get used to them.

yeah i've had migraines in the past where i've seen spots.

Does anyone know why you get that twitchy eye thing? I sometimes get it when i'm stressed at work or tired but its feels like i'm winking at everyone but when i look in the mirror i can only just make it out.

Yes, they're known as floaters.

They're harmless and don't worry unless you get lots at once as this can be an indication of infection.

There's jobbies at the back of the eye that can snap and kind of wind around like an elastic band does. Often they'll do this and clear.

I've got a couple that annoy the crap out of me. You see them more on clear skies and white backgrounds. I play games with mine and kind of chase them around my eye.
