Pete
for the gym your New Balance trainers are fine, Pete. may not be cool but they'll certainly do the job without breaking the bank!! They're 60 quid normally! I was quite surprised how cheap trainers are nowadays. I remember them being much more expensive 100+ easy when I was a nipper. I was going for Nike, but they didn't have Size 10s i own a pair of Asics for going to the gym and have lasted about three years and still look new!! (could be a reason for that mind you )
Pete
good luck Pete... get yourself an MP3 player and some decent tunes and you'll be in de-stress heaven.... I have Hi-MD - mch more favourable to MP3 players
Guest Flat4_ire
Good on you. Our gym is getting too busy with people joining, had to queue forever last night. You'll relax and enjoy it after a while. "you'll relax and enjoy it after a while"?!? thats one thing he wont be doing if he is training properly! hes not a granny who goes in to chat about bingo u know charlotte
Pete
New Balance are fine mate, i've used them for running for years.. I use them for all my road work (running) they are made for exactly what you need. Ah good. Thanks for that. To be fair I only got them as they're white and were half price (cos no one else wants them perhaps?). They'll only stink of feet in 6 months time and I'll get some new ones....if I last that long of course.

I used to get ingrowing toe nails and had to have part of my nail removed to stop it. The agony of not being able to walk is terrible, so I make sure that my footwear is very comfy and breathable at all times. I don't care how expensive my everyday shoes are, as long as they're comfy. At the end of the day they'll last for years anyway so it's not THAT expensive. Couple of tanks of fuel? Lonsdale is a boxing brand by the look of it. I wanted running shoes for shock absorbtion. Pete
oh no, i see they've recommended the style for people that are bow legged I'm ignoring this comment if you hadn't noticed. I used to have a friend who ran with his feet flapping outwards. Very strange. In races he'd trip the people up on either side of him. David Waffles I think was his name. I work hard in the gym but i do see idiots puffing their chests out and lifting far too much whilst almost bursting a blood vessel in their head. Hmmm perhaps you should do this Pete. Pete
Back from the gym and you lot have been busy. Just did some swimming, time in the jacuzzi and steam room. Still - gently does it. I'm back at 07:30 for my induction. Scarey thing was the changing rooms. I got penned in a corner with two blokes deciding to stick their shorts on at the same time. Two naked but cracks pointing in my direct at once - not an experience I ever wanted to have. My only goal is to get fitter, hopefully loosing a little belly flab in the process. The hotel at the Cisco event had loads of mirrors in the bathroom that reflected my body in inifinte directions. Hence deciding to sort myself out a bit. Pete
Glad to hear you enjoyed the gym...! Gym was cool. Feeling much chiller now too. I was suprised how everyone kept very much to themselves. All those people and nobody talking.

Haven't been tonight and feeling a bit restless? can you tell?! - tip for the next gym outing, get the runner 'behind the stepper.. those machines are like magnets for 'hot chicks'... Snooze
Gym was cool. Feeling much chiller now too. I was suprised how everyone kept very much to themselves. All those people and nobody talking. I think that probably says more about people in general in this day and age rather than people at the gym specifically, no?

Mind you, I'm not sure about some of 'em. Seem a bit too full of themselves for my liking.

Mike
I think that probably says more about people in general in this day and age rather than people at the gym specifically, no? you could be right there... that said I thought it was a 'southern thing' that people don't talk to each other? (sorry Southerners!) but then I went home to the folks and joined a northern gym there for a couple of weeks and they don't talk either..? erm, so we can rule out the North / South divide in this theory..
