npotts
For some reason, when I go into the mkivsupra.net website and hit 'New Posts', I nearly always get a message saying that there are no new posts since I last visited. This never used to happen! I cant believe that from 7.30am this morning till now, there have been no new posts.... surely this is not right..... Im using Mozilla Firefox as a web browser - is there any setting I am missing with my cookies or something!??!!
markymark
that happens to me too m8 - I thought it was just me! I normally just do a 24-hour search after that

mawby
I very rarely get it too, Genna gets it often when browsing from work. I was going to look into it this weekend but got side tracked with stuff. I will try and look into it this weekend.
milocoon
I get this as well but only since "UNTAMED" hacked the site ! It must still be hacked (LOL Mawby!) as it states 478 posts since last visiting the site but then shows only a few or that message ! April Fool Backfired ? toyotasuprauk
I sometimes get this then I click the 24 hour button to view them.
Branners
it occurs if you go to the home page and press refresh before it completes loading. Not saying thats what you are doing and perhaps the garage picture add-in on the front screen does something along the same lines but its certainly how it happens for me. npotts
Okay guys After thorough testing, I can confirm that this still happens!! WTF...?? Wierd, but when I get to work in the morning and click new posts, I have loads there, but from then on during the day, nothing. It just says, 'Sorry but there are no new posts since your last visit'.... Any ideas? Nick
mawby
Right I have changed the forum to use a different method of marking posts as read. Originally it was cookie based, it is now timestamp based and stored in the forum database. This will mean that the first time you come back to the forum it will show every post as being unread, BUT it should only happen once. It will also tell you which posts are unread but where available to read the last time you logged on, so that will help with knowing where you left off last time. Give it a few days and then let me know if this solves it or causes any other problems.
npotts
Hey thanks Mawby. That sounds excellent. I will keep you posted to see how it works.... Nick
Bill Prawn
I got a bit confused when I logged on and read that there was 500 new posts. I thought s**t the forum was busy last night. Luckily I read this post before reading 20 pages:) Nice idea Lee and it seems to work well - up to yet.
Bill Prawn
Nice idea Lee and it seems to work well - up to yet. Whoops I spoke too soon. After posting this I went to new posts and this thread was not there. Even though it had a new post - MINE.
mawby
After posting this I went to new posts and this thread was not there. Even though it had a new post - MINE.That's because it didn't really have a new post because after creating the new post you automatically view that post, so the thread was marked as read and will no longer appear in the new posts search. Darren-K
this is simple to fix, its your internet cache., needs to be emptied., what most websites do is store a cookie in your browser stating when you last visited,. logged on or off ,. and the usual pages viewed.,these are usualy loaded by your browser for a faster response time. go to control panel,. interent options, click "delete cookies" also select "all offline content" you can also click "delete files" then re-start your machine,. and try the forum again , you will be logged out, just log in again and all should be well
