Underworld
Thats bloody great. I just phoned up my insurance company to find out what the damage was for my bump a couple of months back. This was in my celica into an old school fiesta at 5-10 mph. Cracking his rear lower bumper slightly. Did nothing to my car. I being a noob to insurance claims didn't think to ask to pay outa my own pocket, and he took it to my insurance company by lunch. The damage was that the car was taken to pnr or bnr coachworks, and it cost over 1.1k to mend this bump. WTFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Result is that i loose my no claims for that year. Incidently i dont suppose no claims bonuses work over in Canada? What a load of crap. Im pissed. So pissed. It sucks that they allow a slow moving bump, no damage to my car, a broken bumper on a shite car to cost over 1.1k. Gotta get the supe insured on 0 no claims now. Nobends. MrRalphMan
Did you have seperate policies for the two cars or have you sold the celica for the soop? Surely if they were on differernt policies, you only loose the DCB on the one for the Celica?
Robert
trust me mate i know how you feel had a bump and all that was on the other car was a bit of my paint, no dents and they wrote it off!!!! It was such a scam becuase the guy whos car it was he owns a few garages and got estimates from himself.
colsoop
Don't worry about it fella. I did something similar when driving my sisters fiesta last year bugger all damage to my sis car and a scratch and flaky paint on the bumper of the other car. I lost my no claims bonus but lucky for me the insurance co didn't up my premium at renewal.

WTFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Result is that i loose my no claims for that year. If it's any consolation, if the damage had cost £1 or £10,000, you'd have still lost your bonus It's just the way Insurance companies work, you have an accident, it's your fault, they remove some of your bonus. Hell, they even remove bonus when it isn't your fault, like when the car gets stolen
