Muffleman
I don't hate Rooney, but what I do disagree with is the media\pundits claiming that if he gets injured in the world cup, we then have no chance ! He's one player, and not one I rate that highly.
supra dan
Chelsea who have bought the title!! F**king Hypocrites..... as opposed to man u who spent 28 million on rooney, 26 million on ferdinand 15 million on van nistelrooy, 10 million on saha, 15 million on ronaldo.......... hogmaw
I hope ManU beat em to the title. I hate and always have hated the smug and arrogant team associated with david mellor, dennis wise, and violent hoolies that invented the chelsea smile. ChrisSZ
It's funny - everyone wants to see a team win but if they do then all of a sudden it becomes really trendy to "hate" them!! I can remember when both Man U and Arsenal were winning left right and centre and everyone semed to "hate" them when they were at the top!! Still, perhaps if the England team actually manage to win the World Cup we can all start to "hate" them too
supra dan
Couldnt agree more, united pomote home grown talent, unlike arsenal and chelsea, might as well call them arsene, and chelseazo. oh yeah they had 3 englishmen in the team chelsea had 2 with 2 more on the bench. thats really promoting english talent
wkdtime
oh yeah they had 3 englishmen in the team chelsea had 2 with 2 more on the bench. thats really promoting english talent It wasnt long ago when majority of the England football team consisted mostly of united players...wonder why that was? mkirby
oh yeah they had 3 englishmen in the team chelsea had 2 with 2 more on the bench. thats really promoting english talent to be fair it was 3 and 2 more than arsenal have!! which is really sad for the game i agree that Utd have spent alot of money of 4 or 5 players over the last 3 or 4 years but the difference is chelsea have spent 200 million!!! yes 200 million on pretty much a whole team!! and what is that guy smoking who said they dont rate rooney!?!? love him or hate him if you watched him today and most other days he rips defences apart i would only put 1 or 2 players at the moment above him in the world and thats not just because i'm a man u fan but also a fan of football!! Kopite
This is a thread i like Don't hate Rooney, best talent this country has produced in years? Erm *cough* Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole, Michael Owen, Terry etc One player i do hate is G*ry N*ville. He's just a twat in general. As for Man United and Chelsea, can't stand either of them but i think i hate Chelsea more just because of their general arrogance and players like Drogba and Robben always cheating. If Man United and Liverpool reproduce some of their current form next season then the league might be interesting! Liverpool particularly had a poor start to this season, think it was 1 win in 7 for us at the start! p.s. Lionel Messi is a better talent that Rooney though

Lionel Messi is a better talent that Rooney though *cough* i dont rate gerrard!! he is a good midfield player but up against a decent team you hardly see him, cole is good at going forward but not the best defender in his position, owen is a cracking player, not as good as he used to be but would still have him in my side, terry is a very very good strong defender and yes again would have him. Neville can be a tw@t but again he is a very very good defender and i dont think theres anyone english which is better at going forward and putting in decent crosses at the moment?? Like liverpool man u had a big blip and is why were 7 point behind?? thats footie i suppose. Messi does look special but the problem with people like him is they have a great game then 3 bad ones, bit like ronaldo!! just not consistant where as rooney is consistantly very good at what he does Mike
mkirby
Sorry just to add what i should have also said about gerrard is he is a leader and a very good one but not world class, saying that when you look at the man u midfield we could do with a work horse in there at the moment lol
wkdtime
9 consecutive wins for united at a very important stage of the game, i say were pulling our selves together, Morhinio take too much credit, wonder how far he would have gotten chelsea without that limitless credit card:D
Kopite
Gerrard not a world class midfielder? Suppose you think Lampard is then! lol Think you need to watch Gerrard a bit more dude, same with Xabi Alonso, don't think a lot of people realise how good he actually is! Messi is a lot more consistent than Ronaldo who is a show pony. N*ville is the best option at RB right now but he's still a wanker.

I would have gerrard over lampard because gerrard is a better tackler but all my family are scousers mate so i "have" to watch him all the time but i dont know i see him sometimes and he looks class then i see him and h hardly gets a touch, his problem is he gets marked out of a game too easily but if left yes he can be very good Alonso is starting to look good, just need to start popping up with 10-12 goals a season to be better. Messi has only been around for half a season in spain so lets see what a load of money, fast cars and fast women do to him and yes ronaldo is a show pony, makes me soooo mad watching him but he can also be a match winner?? so what do you do??
Kopite
and yes ronaldo is a show pony, makes me soooo mad watching him but he can also be a match winner?? so what do you do?? We have Luis Garcia! Only problem is that Ronaldo's tricks work most of the time and Garcia's don't! Problem with him is that he pops up with vital goals so can't slag him off too much. Gerrard doesn't shine a lot in the big games, think his role gets changed though and he's not allowed to push on like he can in games against the lesser teams. Same with England, he does more of the midfield holding role and can't push on. Would like to see him in the England midfield alongside Carrick. p.s. Gerrard isn't one of my favourite players, do rate him though. DOn't think he'll ever be as big a legend as Robbie Fowler etc
mkirby
The only think that worries me about Liverpool is its turning into another arsenal?? what i mean is your manager like wenger is bringing in young foreign players and getting rid of alot of the acadamy players which is a right shame as like man u, liverpool have a good history of home grown players?? mkirby
Oh and the next time i'm at a match and garcia scores i WILL make him bite his thumb off!!!! got he pi55es me off when he does that lol

One thing you have to think about is yeah maybe Benites has sold a few English young kids, but he's also brought in loads of other kids, some English, some not, the future's bright, the future's RED! Kopite
There's a few cracking kids to watch out for dude - Paul Anderson is looking AMAZING! Shame we got dumped out of the league cup early on because i think he'd of featured in that. Jack Hobbs too.

SuperSupra
By the way, people who were saying "I hate ***" "I wana smack **** in the mouth" - I say how old are you guys? Jeez, it's only a fecking game! Besides, I like Mourinho and I'm a Liverpool fan, he brings a different dimension to the game and the interviews too! He's a talented coach no doubt about it, are people forgetting what he did at Porto????? I don't particularly like Man Utd as a whole, or Fergie, but I respect what he's done there, and they play fantastic football on their day. Ronaldo - one of the most difficult wingers to defend against in the country at the mo (even though he is a twat). Rooney - how can anyone say they don't rate this guy? He's (IMO) the ONLY hope we have of bringing any pride back from Germany. Without him we are average and stand no chance. Now one guy I can understand people hating is Didier Drogba, not cos of his skills because if anyone saw him today he was outstanding, but because of his persistent blatant cheating and bad sportsmanship. Get diving, handballing, crowding the ref, asking for players to get booked etc etc etc OUT of our beloved game, whoever is doing it. Bookings won't do it, fines won't do it, lets try suspensions, and for repeated offenses - longer suspensions. Rant over, I'll shut up now
