Urgent Brake Question!!!

Recommended Posts

I was outside about to put new pads on Sabrinas FTO when i noticed when about to take the caliper off that the disc is flapping about. Now there's no way that the disc should be moving forward and backward is there?? Am really worried as she's been complaining it's been pulling to the side.

yeah it's the wheel nuts that clamp it all together, so it will float around when the wheel is off. The caliper doesn't really do much to hold it in place, it would all go very wobbly indeed if the wheel nuts weren't doing their job, and you'd know about that straight away!

Yeah, the caliper only 'holds' it on once the wheel is off.

In FACT it's a shame really as otherwise you wouldn't need to undo the

caliper to CHANGE the discs ! ! !
