veilsideTT
According to THIS thread, the 2nd and 3rd posts claim that thier koni shocks have a height adjustment. Is this correct? For those who cant be arsed to go to the link............. Hey everyone, Does anyone have Koni sports? (Ride and height adjustable, although you must remove the shock from the car to adjust either) Can you please tell me how high your rear end sits in comparison to the front, and what height settings the shocks are on? My rear is sagging noticeably lower than my front, and I'm not sure if I have the spring perch on the lowest setting or the higher setting... hopefully I have it on the lower one so I can change it, but I'm just trying to get some concensus before I start removing the shock to adjust it. Thanks for any help. Mike, I have them (have for 3 years). Mine are on the lowest perch, front & rear are even using my stock '94 springs. No sag. My car sits pretty even. I can't remeber, but I think I have them both on the high perch with the spacer in front. Thanks
the_host
Ive heard that they are adjustable but not 100% sure
Nic
I think some of the Koni dampers have a height adjustable spring platform, similar to the TRD dampers made by Bilstein. To change the height you need to compress the spring, then move the spring platform to one of the 3 different height settings (these are just 3 grooves around the damper, that the platform slots into). Paul Whiffin
Yep, they are adjustable, you'll need to remove them from the car to do it though.
veilsideTT
So they have dampening adjustment and height adjustment right? Anyone on here doing a good deals on these at the moment
Chris Wilson
the standard issue Koni listing is NOT height adjustable, and the Koni damping adjustment is really meant to counter wear at high mileages. I am producing an adjustable ride height suspension kit in the fairly near future. It will be high end, (not cheap), and will be valved to match the springs I'll also supply, and be for track day, drag usage, or for thsoe who want a no compromises, ultimate fast, smooth road set up. A set up will be avaialble for each of these disciplines.
jamesmark
koni's are adjustable in dampening and height, the have three height setting each 12mm apart, i have them on my car you just slide it up and down to what ever height you want within the three setting, but they are not adjustable like coilovers, but if your car is never gonna see a hard track day koni's and eibachs is the way to go, if you dont mind the drop n the eibachs
Chris Wilson
Hmm, I have sold maybe 20 sets of konis for the MKIV and none had alternative spring perch grooves. But that was about 2 / 3 years ago, maybe now they have started to re make them they have machined additional perch grooves in the bodies?
veilsideTT
Any traders sold a set recently (Paul?) who can categorically confirm they now have Height and Dampening adjustments?

jamesmark
ok here are some pics of them............. 1st pic, the part that i have circled is a 40mm spacer so that i could raise the car up a fraction at the front as the eibachs dropped me a bit to much and back then i had a top secret that met its end, so had to raise her but the spacer sits on the ridges the 2nd is the rear ones and you can see the ridges better

jamesmark
ok just to point on on the pics as veiside brought to my attention you cant see the ridges on the first pic as the part circled "the spacer" is covering them but the rears you can see the ridge and my suspension can come down 12mm again to sit on the last ridge
jamesmark
i dunno if nic or CW can add anything to this as i am a novice and terrible at explaining things

The stock Koni st up has a ring that fully and snugly encompasses the OD of the snap ring, as well as a step that sits AGAINST it, like your spacer. I can only assume koni have now started making these dampers with multiple snap ring grooves since I bought any.
