cg084
Hi guys, Feel like i have never stopped asking questions on here. Must return the favour. Well i had my car booked in to get an alarm fitted by a certified dealer. They are a little reluctant for it to fit it until they have some help if needed. Mainly they are unsure with it being from Japan as to whether the wiring loom is different between the jap and uk specs. Just incase there is a problem. Could you let me know if there are any differences or if you had any problems after getting an alarm fitted. Cheers Craig
Roy
craig - it wouldn't be a bad idea to give matt harwood a shout. he is the resident alarm guru (amongst a few other things!) ... his number is 01622 683044.
dandan
Welcome to the board hope you find it useful and intersting. I think the general consensus is that for anything alarm related, Matt Harwood is your man. He'll probably post a reply here soon and no doubt quell any worries about fitting the alarm. Personally i can't offer you any advice but somebody will........ edit: i must have took longer typing that than i thought, cuz noone else had replied!! Matt Harwood
Hi Craig, The installers should have no problems fitting an alarm to your car. The wiring, (regarding alarm fitment), is no different from a UK Supra, so any tech sheets they have will be OK. Feel free to pass on my telephone number if they want a bit of reassurance 01622 683044 Thanks for the compliments guys!
cg084
ENGLAND WON !!!!! YIPEE All cheers for the help. I had a word with them today about the alarm. It is going to be fitted on Tuesday. For their peace of mind they are getting hold of a jap electric sheet from the alarm company. Then the next thnig to do is to race and play in the wet. Once again Cheers.
Matt Harwood
It'll read the same as the UK one What alarm are you going for?
cg084
Thinking about a Sigma although the thought of only 1 button on the remote is putting me off or going for a ToadAi1600 which has 2 buttons on. Hoping to have it set up to do the boot. Yes Lazy i know. Which would you recommend?
Soonto_HAS_soop
Clifford. Ben..
Matt Harwood
Depends on what you want. The Clifford can offer all the toys, (remote start, boot release, remote window opening and closing, remote headlights, turbo timer etc), but the Toad and Sigma are very good alarms. It's been a while since we've done anything from Sigma, but I'm fairly sure they can do remote boot release too... BTW, the Toad should be an Ai606 with four button remotes. The Ai600 was discontinued about 4 years ago!
