Handbrake Warning Light Intermittent

Recommended Posts

Is there any reason why the handbrake warning light (triangle with exclamation point in the middle) would keep coming on intermittently as I'm driving.

The handbrake certainly is not on, not even one click. It just keeps coming on. Could it be a general brake issue or is it just possible the handbrake sensor is a bit dodgy?

Yes, it's a very common problem. The fluid sloshes around and makes the warning light come on. Top it right up and that'll sort it. For fluid type use DOT5.1 - it's compatible with the lower grades so you'll be ok. The only type that is incompatible with the others is DOT5, make sure you don't get that.

DID any of the Soops ever come with Brake Pad warning lights/wires ??

I thought they ALL relied on the "Squeely-Metal-Clip" thingies ??

IF the pads run VERY low, then the FLUID level will trip the Level light

anyway ?!?!?

Hahah, after going single this problem started for me 2 days ago. I'll check the fluid, hopefully that fixes it. It scared me at first when I would flooring it and the Exclamation light goes off all of a sudden...then I noticed the brake light. Must be from all the acceleration from the Single Kit. :D
