veilsideTT
That helps but it only explains how to dismantle the whole set up. I wasn't sure if it was possible to change the springs with minimal dismantling? I,E Can i undo the top mounts and a couple of other bits so i can swing the whole suspension set up down allowing me to remove the spring??? If that makes sense Scott
Prof. Monkey
Obviously you need a spring compressor to remove the springs from the strut, then take the top cup off. Front: Remove front wheel, take off plastics from inner wheel arch of the car, that hide the intercooler and on the NS the washer bottle. Undo the bolt holding the upper wishbone, its held on with 19mm nut and the bolt is about 10 inches long. It should drive out without a large amount of physical force. Once this is done, remove the 3 nuts from the strut tower and you can pull the whole strut towards you and down and out. Rear: No wishbone to remove, basically the 5 inch bolt that holds the strut onto the rear radius arm and the 3 bolts on the strut tower under the plastics. The plastics are held on with 3 screws and a wierd plastic twisty compression scre thingy. that comes off and the other piece of plastic comes away when you pull it toward you (toward the back of the car). veilsideTT
Do they need taking for a spin to get them to settle Scott
Soonto_HAS_soop
Yeah driving it will settle it. To get the rears out you can persuade them out with a little leverage, I can get my rear shocks out in about 5-10 minutes as side now, but I have had lots of experience at doing them.
