Help required re new turbos

Leon has tracked down my boost problem to the turbo's. It boosts up to 1.0 bar, and holds fine, but won't go up to the 1.4 when the controller is set to it.

All other checks came up fine (compression, vsv's, acuators etc). Its either a crack in the 2nd turbo housing or more likely the turbo blades have been built slightly too small.

The choices are, take the turbos off and rebuild them with bigger blades etc (Leon estimates they are stage 2). This may end up being £2200.

Go to new stage 3's £2400

Or small single SP61 or similar,£3600

Rebuild seems a waste of time id rather go small single.

Ignoring the mods that will need to be removed Leon thinks the current set up will support a small single.

Forged pistons, 256/264 cams and gears, VPC, boost controller, s type intercooler, twin power delivery, ssqv, no cats, dragger, fcd, mhg, timer,.

Bit worrid about the s type intercooler as its only rated to 450bhp iirc.

Any opinions, will be doing this in January.

Leon was fairly confident that with the current set up it could be done for £3600 plus vat. He has just installed the very same turbo on someone elses with a similar set up a few months ago.

The turbo is from Leons own secret source so i don't know exactly what it compares to but he estimated 500bhp at 1.0 bar. So im guessing it could be similar to a sp61.

Air intake is in the kit i think. Can you explain a bit more about ECU,mapping and heat sheilding requirements.

This all happened a few months ago so i wasn't keen to post until i had the cash to do the work, if the goal posts move ill have to rethink.
