As the title sez - been hankering after one of these for a while, so bit the bullet last weekend and got one!! Just really good fun, and cheap to boot:) M reg new import, immaculate inside and out for £4495, in a nice dark blue colour!! Insurance for me and Sally (my G/F) is cheap courtesy of Sky insurance, and it use feck all petrol (well, compared to my soop it does:) )

It's like a little rollerskate, and the handling is sublime (especially on backroads) - cheap affordable fun, especially now summers on its way

Piccies on thier way when i work out how to reduce the size:)

About the going price for one in A1 condition and that age. Same as the Supras, just because you can get a scabby one for peanuts doesn't mean they are all that price ;)

Bought one for my missus 3 years ago now and can't praise them enough, great fun to drive and cheap as chips to run. Enjoy :)

very few, I maintain ours and it's just passed it's 3rd MOT at the weekend there without any issues.

Not much in the way of expense, even a replacement hood can be bought for under £200 now and it's a pita to fit but can be done at home.

Parts are very cheap, mpg is great and smiles per pound best car I've ever bought.........I don't like pink though:innocent:

Engines are typical jap and sitting here trying to think of any down sides........I can't!

Eh. british ones have rust and higher mileages :eyebrows:

You can get a 89/90 plate for under 2k these days but it will need some work but nothing the average diy tinkerer couldn't sort themselves

In that case Pete, can I recommend a TVR, you'll never be bored :D

Nothing major, but there's always something you can find to do ;)

I don't like the affordable TVRs - and it IS for the misses not me (I already have the kitcar).

TVR insurance wouldn't be nice either I imagine. Parts more expensive (the bits that aren't Ford) etc. etc.

Yours looks nice.

Phone AON for a quote, I get the wifes on a limited milage something like 250 a year, that's without using any NCD towards it :D

Our everyday cars cost less than that!

130 for the Tiger, 230 for the ZR, 380 for the Supra this year.

Thanks!

Parts aren't too bad for Griffiths or Chimaeras. Mainly Ford running gear, with a Rover(ish) V8.

You're right insurance is dear, worse than a Supra, but I'm going to shop around this year to try and get it more sensible.

They are great cars for enthusiasts, that are prepared to spend a lot of time working on them.

I can always find something to do on mine, as I said before, never major stuff, but the odd hose here and there, stepper motor needs cleaning, chassis prep etc. etc.

I'll be glad when the warmer weather comes, this time of year it never really gets hot enough to get the ECU onto the optimum running map, hence it does about 10mpg

I knew what I was buying when I got into one, so its no surprise, and I quite enjoy working on it when it isn't my only car that I have to use for work every day.

Saying that, as soon as I fire it up and hit the road, all faults are forgiven :D

Thanx for the (in general) positive comments - it's a real scream to drive - just fitted a pipercross induction kit in under 30 mins, clear side repeaters in 5 mins, gear knob and gaiter in 10 mins - all a piece of piss (cheap too - total price was £150), makes it look (and go) a bit more!!

If you think that's gay, well, takes one to know one, eh??;) ;) :D
