Supragal
Looks like we will be able to consolidate both our run arounds into 1 car so the plan is an estate.... don't really know much about them but it's gonna be fairly old so need something reliable. What is the non WRX scooby one? Probably around the £1500 mark. Anyone got any ideas and suggestions?
psymon
Any scooby wagon, is a waste of time, they have as much room in the boot as the average hatch back, avoid if you want space

michael
A Legacy estate would probably be a more sensible idea - my old man has one, heaps of room, still has the flat 4 rumble, handles OK....
Faye Brother
The seats fold down in the wagons for extra load space, but as psymon suggests, they're not really what I would class as a conventional estate in regards to load carrying capability. How much and what type of items, on average, will you need to transport around in the back of the car?

jamesmark
for size, an omega estate and if your lucky to get a diesel that has the bmw engine in it or another that i have driven is the mondeo estate again bags of room, a lot more than rivals, you can get the 2.5 v6 on both cars

Was thinking about something TD. well if its fuel economy do not go for the 2.5 v6 on the omega or the mondeo. the omega diesel engine 2.0 or 2.2 is a good engine and 40ish mpg i dunno what like the diesel mondeos are like but i owned a 2.0 petrol mondeo etate before i got the soop on boxing day, i loved it, it was comfortable it was also a ghia so was well equipped, had that amazing heated front screen and the brakes were good too, fuel for that was about 35mpg ish, the only thing is the 2.0 did not shift in 5th gear but other than that marvelous motor

TrickTT
406 diesels are very good, as are Renault Laguna (old shape) with the 2.0 16v petrol volvo engine. I used to have a Laguna and they are HUGE in the back, much bigger than the Volvo
