LMAO funny post. If you want sub 9 times just check out the Texas meet of a few weeks ago. A lot of the MKIV guys were running sub 9's.

 

When you have loads of money it some how does not sound quite so impressive as some one running a car they built them selves with zero financial backing. Bit like buying a highly modded car and taking the credit for what it can do.

 

We will have 8 second MKIV's but it takes time without the cash to and R&D. Any car that can do 8's is impressive, but my respect goes to those who have done it them selves.

and it would not have been a supra,I don't think you guys can appreciate

how hard it is to get a 4wd car to run a quick time over the 1/4 mile.

if I was to tub the rear end of my car and run it as a 2wd you would see very

fast times,I don't care how fast a 2wd car can run I am only interested in how

fast I can run my car against all the other skyline GTRs and nothing else.

 

Instead of having a pop at me go and put your heads together and sort out a

UK supra that will run a Sub 9 talk is cheap.

works a 37 hr week every penny I have goes into my car to go racing,I also wish that

I had the same budget that the people I race against have to spend on there cars.

I'm not going into all the crap but ive spoken to keith a few times and have used RB's and as the last comment said Keith is a nice guy who works as a plumber and yeh he sells t-shirts ( me and my kid have one ) but its to provide fuel etc to run!! i say fair play to him

 

Also i see that rocket ronnies name crop up, not that i'm ronnie bashing but he has the full backing of abbey motorsports and i dont know what ronnie does for a living but i believe money is no object with him and i think he also has a porker GT3 as a track car!!

 

Anyone who can do a sub 10sec 1/4 mile has to be an amazing driver IMHO so fair play to him and anyone else

You are insinuating that just because Ron makes a living from building and tuning R32's he should be faster than a 'plumber' - this is ridiculous and quite frankly laughable.

 

I'm also confused as to why you think the RK Tuning Skyline is a drag car? You have obviously never witnessed Ron Kiddell drive his R32 around a circuit. I can assure you it goes around corners very quickly too. Yes he drives it to every event, yes he can do a 9.46sec standing 1/4mile, but it's certainly not a one trick pony...

I'm sure Ron would love to beat Keith in a head to head (as it's a worthy scalp to take), but at the same time, he can also give a lot of people a good kicking around a handling circuit - that’s the big difference between the two R32's.

 

So for a Sprint Car, the 9.4sec of RK Tuning's R32 is not exactly 'playing catch up' to a 9.3sec drag car is it? Ok, he may not get into the 8's in the immediate future, but I think that's pretty respectable.

 

It's nice to see people pushing the scene forward.

Erm... Rocket Ronnie's R33, that was quite nippy and a former TOTB Champ. Another car that was quick in a straight line, but was built as an all-round sprint car.
