RedM
I've been thinking of getting cheap digital camera to keep in the car in case of an accident or whatever. Anyone do the same? Do insurers accept digital pics as evidence or only film based ones? Your thoughts please.

JohnA
The moment an accident happens, you want to jump out and take pictures before anything is moved. No backing off to help the traffic behind. First the pictures! If -in retrospect- they prove that *you* were at fault, then just keep them for your personal collection. In any other case they can be used to help your claim. At the very least, if the other driver sees you taking pictures he'll think twice before changing his story and making up fantasies. The solicitors of his insurance company will be more sympathetic to your point of view perhaps.
edd_t
That's not fair, i didn't get that when i joined! teehee, this was back in 2000. dunno if they still do it. i also got a little game 'to keep the kids happy whilst waiting for the RAC man to arrive' and some vacuum packed boiled sweets 'to stop me from starving, incase the RAC man take a very long time'

michael
*makes note of cars to break into when needing a camera* I generally have one with me at all times, a lot of insurers say they won't accept digital pics as evidence as they can be altered but they never seem to have an issue with them if you print them off at a local processing place and send them proper pictures. Ian R
A bullet cam on record all the time is the way to go. I'm thinking of getting one
JohnA
unless its a fire-bug / alien hybrid. Then it attracts them. That's the *old* fire-bug you're thinking of. The new one is photophobic. And the alien hybrids are overrated (IMHO) Stock aliens are really the same, and more down-to-earth. Alien *Singles* are the way forward
