Reversed of my drive satday and the fault lamp came on when i braked checked my brake lights they were working fine. my fog lights have been wired up to the rear lights but it has never brought the fault lamp on when using my fogs. Dont know how they have been wired up.

i have searched and found the part about resoldering the lamp failure unit it's self i did that seemed ok but then 3rd or 4th time of going out in it the failure light came on again.

Any idea's??

This is normally caused by the fog light conversion, do you know if a relay was used to wire up the fog light, if not it will be that.

Yeah the Toyota cold solder poitns are iffy over time so check your solder connections and make sure there ok. Then pin out the lights and see if there is a short somewhere.

That would be my advise.

which wires of the lamp failure unit is the lights?

I would need to look in the book for the proper J-spec wiring pin outs. I believe its a bit different. 2 AM here though and Im getting sleepier, lol.

Ill check tomorrow for you.

Not found out how my fogs were wired up yet. but i have had the back lights of and the green wire with a white strip on both inner brake lights had just been cut and a new black wire atached to the bulb on the right then tacken over to the left hand side. so i have removed the black wire and conected the green/white strip wires back to gether. but i now have i a buld gone when i turn the lights on but seems ok when i use the brakes i ll just have to rewire my fogs as shown on here:rolleyes:
