Ark
Something to do with pensions, and how certain public sector employees think it's unfair they have to retire at 65 like everyone else. I think maybe they should work until they're 90, to cover the same amount of actual productive work that other people put in! Don't get me started on unproductive council workers - the stories I hear from my other half (public sector employed) just make me fume. Kip
Ditto Ark. One could say to the public sector workers "welcome to the real world"!!

Ark
I'm glad they get docked a days pay for strike days. It would be the ultimate slap in the face for everyone else if they were being paid to shirk their responsibilities.

IDO
The strike is a pain in the arse...... just for the reason that it means my sister has the day off (shes a class room/ teaching assistant at a special needs unit, to be honest she does work hard and doesn't moan about it).. and she has just phoned me to say she has knackerd my computer while using it on her "day off" while booking a holiday... TreesSZ
You spend the majority of the day fire fighting behavioral problems from the kids because excluding them can't happen easily due to government inclusion policy. You spend the evening marking the work they do. You spend the generous holiday time being ill because the adrenaline wears off and the multitude of school viruses cane you. Every poxy fibre of you is commited to the job and then they expect you to finish another 5 years later??? (by the time I retire it'll have gone up to 85 no doubt!). Dont even get me started on the pay (teachers dont get paid overtime).
