JohnK
I took my drivers seat out today and was stunned how heavy it was! No idea (yet) why it needs to be so heavy but it really is surprising, im tempted to fit a non motorised one.
colsoop
I finished sound proofing my car yesterday so also took out the drivers seat it is a good 5 kg's heavier isn't it . Im assuming the motor is pretty heavy duty to be able to move the seat with a person sat in it.
JohnK
Feels like more than 5kg, ill have to get them on the scales when I have them both in the same place again. Nearly did my back in!
Chiefgroover
drivers seat is more like 30 or 40KG!
JohnA
I'm pretty sure the UKSpec seat will be heavier still. Hey, it's a motorway cruncher, not an Elise (although I'd gladily trade a few kg for a non-powered seat, electric gizmos are just things waiting to break down)
Steviekid
Im assuming the motor is pretty heavy duty to be able to move the seat with a person sat in it. The two motors are actually pretty small. Pray they never fail, I was quoted £240 for the one that moves the seat forwads and backwards!
JohnK
The 5kg quoted was the weight difference between the powered / non powered. I agree though, must be about 40kg! Mine is a UK too.
colsoop
According to the hardtop registry kerb weight calculator a drivers leather seat weighs 22 kg a passenger seat weighs 16.
