My sis has a AMG Merc and the other day while she was at home she heard what sounded like glass break and her car alarm going off, so she went outside to take a look and didnt see anybody around, so she had a look at the car and the front right was lower than the left, took a look under the car and found her spring from her car in half on the floor!!! WTF !

she is lucky to not off been driving thats all i can say! plus she pregnant so double lucky it didnt happen while she is driving.

Anyone ever heard of this while the car is stationary?? i had a look at the spring and it didnt look very rusty so why would it of snapped like that?

We don't do many springs at work, far more shocks (cos of leaking normally)

HOWEVER, had an A140 last week with a noise which turned out to be a rear

spring with a bit snapped off.

Phoned German Swedish and French and they keep ~10/11 PAIRS on the

shelf at ALL TIMES ! ! ! They're VERY prone for it apparently.

[also had one on an "R"-reg CLK230 ~2 weeks ago.... perhaps it's a Merc

thang ! !???]

My Micra's making funny noises from the suspension at the moment actually - I thought it was shocks as the 'airy' noise they make over bumps (front) is louder than normal, but they rebound as they should on both sides!! Hope it doesn't ping!

that may be the shock inserts or the collers on the strut. a garage should be able to tghten up the collers.
