I asked MR T about leads the other day when i was in getting a cap and rotor arm, 90 quid + VAT. I didn't get the part No in case anyone asks.

Here are the part numbers and diagrams from the EPC. If anyone else wants new leads or distributor cap then I can check prices from here.

If there is a big enough interest, I could organise a group buy, for OEM or after market plug leads.

i recently fitted an air flow temperature sensor to the air box as i have an aftermarket induction kit fitted and when i bought the car it didnt have one on.

Thats very confusing......you have fitted a MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) to your stock air box as you have a aftermarket induction kit fitted ??

So if you didnt have one on, what was you using being your MAF ??

no idea mate. im only just learning about the car! just think who ever took the standard box off and replaced it with the HKS induction kit just took it off...

could do with a pic of someones engine bay to see where they put the sensor.

Have a look in my garage matey, theres a engine bay pic there showing the MAF on the induction piping...........I know the ECU switches between MAF and MAP but cant see how it wouldnt throw a wobbly if it cant pick up the MAF. When my MAF sensor failed the car would not idle and as the ECU couldnt detect air flow it put a tempory rev limit on around 3k...........

EDITED: Im too kind, marked in the red circle.....;)

DOULE EDITED: Mate your a 94 N/A, you wont be using a MAF !!!!!!!! Only UK or VVT-i spec Supras run MAF's........

Why did you think you need one, I take it you still have the standard ECU, can you please list all your mods, but unless your trying to do something fancy then no you dont need it. Your run MAP not MAF, the only NA's that would need a MAF sensor is the 97+ VVT-i models. Speak with Faye on here I know she's a VVT-i'er, actually she might be face lift only, bugger, cant remember, but your a 94 model, way before the time........

And secondly that says its a AEM sensor which to me would imply it might be neeeded with a AEM ECU or something, someone............?? And looking at it again its a air temp intake sensor to me that says it measures the temp of the air going past it, Im talking about a sensor that detects the amount of air that passes it..........I think your confused mate.......put your money back in your pocket, lol.... :D

Where have all the old timers of the board gone....... :search:

OK since no one has asked you to do this check I will.

You will find running from the intake manifold a vaccum pipe that runs down to the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator, this pipe controls via vaccum the fuel pressure to the fuel rail allowing more fuel as the vaccum reaches atmospheric pressure, if there is a leak on this pipe the amount of fuel reaching the injectors at high throttle will lessen and cause the symptoms you are both discribing.

We had an NA in that had the same trouble although this was only when it got hot as at that point the pipe would not hold vaccum.

Worth a try as a bit of pipe is pennies.

Gazgsi dont worry to much as as long as you can get it to us we will find and sort the problem anyway.

Good luck.
