If they're Titanium rotors, dya' reckon they go 'funny' colours

when they get a good 'heat-up' ? ? like the Ti exhausts ??

or, don't you reach the same sort of temps on brakes as zorsts ??

(zorsts a lot thinner too...obviously)

(OR, would the 'coloured'-surface layer keep getting rubbed off anyway ?)

:conf:

On ZMI's webpage they say they're the result of years of R&D on the racetrack but I've never heard of them, has anyone else? Personally if I was going to spend that amount of money on a set of brakes then they'd have to do more than sit there and look shiney...:)

Titanium would certainly reduce the unsprung weight which can only be good, I'm just not convinced by the rest of the marketing blurb....

I think they look shit but opinions are like arse holes, everyone's got one...;)

On the bikes, everyone aspires to Brembos..... or at least up till

now...

now it's a mix of Brembos, or, the latest RADIALLY-mounted Jap'

calipers ??? (some tosh about circular 'forces' onto the rotor ??

- I'm sure THEY think it's important - sells R1s/Fireblades anyhow:p )

some 'fringe' manufacturers have tried Carbon rotors (don't get

hot enough on the road to WORK !) and the 'edge-of-wheel-

rim' rotors to increase 'size' to the MAX...... neither have caught

on............

(doesn't the Elise have Carbon rotors ? or is it ceramic ?)

still... Black rotors wouldn't BLING on a Soop ! ! !
