colsoop Posted March 24, 2006 Share Posted March 24, 2006 I like the look of the active spoiler but don't care about it being functional i.e moving up and down at speed. Would it be possible to just get hold of the spoiler and fix it to the car or would i need all the other parts as well, looking at the epc it doesn't look too bad just wondered if anyone has done this. Those killjoys at Toyota tried to stop you from doing this citing aerodynamic forces etc (lies, all lies!), but surely we can improve on that eh? SupraDupra, i think someone looked in to this but i don't know how far they got. All i want is to use the plastic section of the active spoiler in the permanent down position as i have a FMIC so it wouldn't have room to retract. Yeah, OK, that's me having a drink sometimes:innocent: The LONG version is that mr "T" doesn't want the active spoiler to be moving up and down when speeds are over 70mph or so, because the aerodynamic forces are very strong and they can damage or overpower the spoiler mechanism. (it faces straight against the airstream) That's why you can turn it off and keep it there - or you can deploy it manually but only with the car stopped. I wouldn't think there's a problem to have it extended permanently (as long as you never go over bumps or curbs that could damage it) I have a saved webpage of someone who found out how to manually control it, I could dig it up if needed.
