HedgehogSandwich adi
Hi ! this is actually a question on my mkiii 2.5 tt 1JZgte, but apparently it uses the same design as the 2jzgte. On checking the plugs today i noticed that there were no HT leads, just wires going to some connectors which appear to sit on top of the plugs. Apparently these are individual coil packs which sit directly on top of the plug thus reducing HT problems. Is this right? If so to get to the plugs do i need to remove the little plug assemblies? Some of the screws are well tight suggesting they havent ben moved in a while. cheers adi 92 2.5tt
Guest Ash
Yes, correct. Have an impact driver to hand or it will end in tears by the sounds of things. Yours, J
HedgehogSandwich adi
yep you're right about the impact driver thing, best not to ake chances.even took the precaution of booking it into toyota, at least then i can be sure of getting the right plugs (i've had six or seven different opinions on plug types). normally i can 'crack' hard screws off, but theres not really enough rrom to push down on the screwdriver hard enough to do it. One more try tomorrow then i give up. Cheers adi
Simon
And another thing, they are expensive to replace if you break one (or more), this is an instance when the garage can take the blame and pay for replacements if they break it.
