Antenna problems part 4124124

Hey guys my antenna won;t retract, i used the search and found out it is a common problem.

I don;t use the antenna often so i don;t care if it doens;t go out anymore. But it stopped working when it was fully out, so my car looks a RC car with that long antenna

Is there a way to retract it? tips etc please

If you can here the motor doing it's work then it's probably the toothed plastic that runs through the mast which has snapped.

 

New mast about £30.

 

If you don't want to use it again then remove the mast as in the link below.

 

Then push it together, chop off the white plastic toothed bit that is sticking out then refit the mast.

 

Then disconnect the power at the aerial.
