michael
A TNT lorry tried to kill my girlfriend, her mate and my Punto today Damage isn't massive but given the possible low value of the car (£2000 > £3000?) and the labour costs I reckon it might not be coming back.... what do you reckon? http://www.megaboost.co.uk/punto/crash-23-3-06/small/DSCF1286.JPG http://www.megaboost.co.uk/punto/crash-23-3-06/small/DSCF1288.JPG http://www.megaboost.co.uk/punto/crash-23-3-06/small/DSCF1289.JPG http://www.megaboost.co.uk/punto/crash-23-3-06/small/DSCF1290.JPG http://www.megaboost.co.uk/punto/crash-23-3-06/small/DSCF1292.JPG The two ladies ache but not as much as the idiot in the truck would if I could get hold of him! They were next to him on a two lane road when he suddenly decided to brake and swerve right into them - they got pushed into the kerb in the middle of the road and then through a gap into oncoming traffic, could have been much worse!! TNT truck driver didn't say a word, 10 minutes later the TNT crash investigation van appeared - because they won't admit liability we can't get a courtesy car (damn you Tesco!!), two people were kind enough to stop and help as well as being witnesses to it all, the truck is at fault but I guess he's well trained to keep quiet. Be careful out there, the roads are packed with mentalists.

michael
Just picked the pair of them up from A&E - 4 and a half hour wait to be told to go away despite both of them feeling like crap, aching like crazy and being really shaken up (her mate looks like a ghost), it was hard work trying to bring them back in the Supra without them jumping each time a car came near us

RedM
Shit, Michael, why didn't you say you had more pressing matters when I called you? Good to know they are both okay. Were the police called? I hate lorry drivers. I really do. Never met a considerate one in my entire life. Hope they both recover fully soon.
Charlotte
God, sorry to hear this, make sure you get your girlfriend to put her feet up and pamper her for a bit. Some silly bint went into our astra at a services - we didn't think it looked too bad damage to front and back bumper but it was a right off. It was only worth about 3-4 so wasn't worth repairs. Sounds like a similar situation tbh.
michael
Shit, Michael, why didn't you say you had more pressing matters when I called you? Everyone is home, everyone is alive and tucking into some food - no pressing matters for now sir so it was no problem Good to know they are both okay. Were the police called? Yeah police came and helped out, they were really good apparently, two young girlies in a girlie car is bound to attract help though I guess. I hate lorry drivers. I really do. Never met a considerate one in my entire life. LOL, her dad is a lorry driver I don't have a problem with them normally but the combination of delivery driver and huge vehicle is never going to have good results, in my experience those with the job of driving all day tend to be the ones you have to worry about. Hope they both recover fully soon. The aches will go away, it's the mental stuff I'm going to have to work on, we have one saying she doesn't want another car and one saying she won't be having any more driving lessons - I guess that's to be expected for now though. Rob
Surely once the blame has been placed firmly on the TNT lorry drivers shoulders, you can simply demand to have your car repaired no matter what the cost is in relation to it's value. You have the right to be put back in the same position you were prior to the crash. I would do this as a matter of principle.
michael
A few more pics from the scene of the accident, we now have a little Mitsubishi Colt to keep the cheap motoring theme flowing, not been out in it yet but it's nicer looking than the Punto One pic shows the TNT driver, if you recognise him and know where he lives please let me know
