mike_mcevoy
No, not a forum thread (sorry bad joke ) Does anyone know the thread type of the oil filter, i'm assuming the uk/Japan filters are the same. i have an adapter for a oil relocation kit but the thread pitch seems to be wrong and the filter doesnt want to screw on. If someone could help that would be great. Mike
Soonto_HAS_soop
Did you buy it off ebay?
mike_mcevoy
lol NO, it was bought off a trader here, although i dont think they renewed their trader status, nothing wrong with them by the way it probably because it is a generic kit. I've attached a few pics to help with my explaination, oh and even though it doesnt say so i think it is the same as the Greddy kit Mike
SimonB
I'd be suprised if it's a different thread. Pretty much all oil filters are 3/4UNF.
newbiematt
Thread resurrection Went to change the oil filter this weekend as part of the service, but to my surprise the thread on the oil filter relocation kit was different to my TRD oil filter. Anyone confirm the thread of the TRD oil filter for me? Thanks in advance, Matt

Anyone confirm the thread of the TRD oil filter for me? Thanks in advance, Matt Well it should be 3/4UNF 16TPI as are most but not all, some are actually 1" UNF and others are M20. Chris Wilson
If you have the wrong adaptor it's an option to just buy a filter with the right thread. I'd get one with a none return valve in it, and pick one from a large engined turbo model, it might indicate higher flow capacity.
newbiematt
Cheers for the responses chaps Chris, I did think about just replacing the oil filter with the same brand that's already on there, but I thought it was best to get the adaptor for the Supra specific oil filter so that the next person who has to service isn't surprised like I was (and had to put to put the old one back on!)
