afennell
I was just abou to fit my 550c injectors to run with the T61, when the clutch started to slip under high boost. I'm confused to what clutch to fit. I will hopefully be over 500bhp and would like to know what people use. Some poeple say the standard cluch will be fine, i think these cost about £260. Or the upgraded clutches start at £350, suggested for mlight tunning. Why would you pay the extra if the standard one works fine? Thanks for your help. Kopite
It's the torque as well though dude, i'd definately go for an uprated one. I've spoke to people i know who just went BPU and found their stock clutch died soon after. RPS one's are common, i'm selling a RPS Sports Street clutch but there's already a buyer waiting. Give Gaz at Envy a ring and he'll sort you out. Others to consider are Southbend and Tilton if you want good ones.
afennell
Thanks Mate, what are the peddle movement like
Kopite
The Street clutch was the same as stock i thought, the Max im getting with a sprung hub will be stiffer but it's still not meant to be aleg breaker. Had no problems so far with the car being a daily driver

Kopite
Gone for the medium sized single (probs 650rhhp with X amount of torque), Super Street wouldn't cope

Underworld
I read something on another supra forum about "its an absolute must to upgrade your clutch for 6 speed manual bpu". I was a bit confused by this, as I wouldnt have thought that the stock clutch would have been ok considering you only have a bit extra bhp. afennell
What power would you say the standard clutch can handle?
Kopite
is this the one you suggest http://www.envyperformance.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1303 They might of been renamed, could be the one but for better advice, speak to Gaz on 01670 823333 - depends on what you want out of the car, driving style and how much bhp/torque you might go for in the future. Like i didn't think i'd ever go single when i got the Sports clutch, now i'm having to get rid of it for the Max! Doh!
Guest Terry S
I read something on another supra forum about "its an absolute must to upgrade your clutch for 6 speed manual bpu". AFAIK, the single plate TRD clutch is a stock plate with an uprated pressure plate ( muted to be RPS).
supratoy
I just had the rps sports puck and flywheel fitted. I was worried that it was going to be a pain in the rear but has turned out to be very easy on the left leg.
afennell
My stock clutch lasted a year after the single was fitted but only running 1 bar. The car has done nearly 80k, probably has more to do with it.

foodfreak
I had the RPS with a 6 puck centre plate, was a bugger in heavy traffic, used to shudder & squeal like a pig RPS street max I have now is much better:thumbs: John
Soonto_HAS_soop
I have the TRD single clutch, had it for about 2 years, it starts to slip (just) after a bit of a sesh on a dyno, on the road it is OK at present, but will need to be uprated when a single gets put on...
