TrickTT
So i've just shelled out £50k for a BMW X5 and watched the residuals plummet cos of the 'anti 4x4 brigade' and an extra £30 on my road tax. I think i'll sell it and buy a Prius Everyone will just pay the extra so we can pay more housing benifit to some fat council house slapper with 14 kids. We now pay more tax as a percentage of our income than ever in history. Lets just hope the country sees sense come the next election. Pixelfill
Lets just hope the country sees sense come the next election. You've lost me there, you seem to be implying that *if* we get another party in government (are there any boundaries on policy anymore - oops one for another day) they'll cut tax Never going to happen, once it's in; it's in. Just IMHO ... Mike

I'm sure there are plenty of people here who remember to late '70s.

Just IMHO ... Mike Sorry mate, but I've always had this view until the last couple of years. If people don't vote to get these money grabbing bastards out, thinking "what's the point, they'll get in anyway" or "the other lot won't make it any better" then we're forever going to be paying spiralling tax for scroungers who pay nothing into the system to sit at home on their arses spending OUR hard earned money. It's not much, but voting is the only thing we can do to at least try to prevent OLD labour (that's what it will be!!) from keeping their stranglehold on our economy. I for one am f**ked off with Blair & Brown lying to us and charging us for the pleasure!! J
Homer
I'm best off not posting too many of my views of this government and the British social situation on here... I did write a very long reply to this thread but have decided not to put it up as I might get accused of being far too non-pc Paul, I know how you feel! On a different note, the BBC website usually has some good feedback from the public on subjects like this, I found this one quite amusing: "If you are an immortal 80-year-old female millionaire science teacher, who needs childcare, drives a very small car, likes a cider chaser with a whiskey, buys her fags in the EU and wants to invest in venture capitalists and trusts, you're laughing all the way to the bank.
