Microsoft's Photoshop alternative

its bad enough adobe have bought out macromedia...

That's a good thing.

They'll hopefully merge the strongest products Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign

Freehand was ok but about the same as Illustrator in my usage of it. Fireworks was always pants. GoLive sucked too. Long live AdobeMedia!

I can't actually see them discontinuing anything anytime soon. There's too many users in both camps.

why should they discount anything when they own the whole market now?... i have just got CS2 at work for tmy mac and i have studio 8 on my work pc aswell ...

freehand was ok it had some nice plus points that illustrater didnt have (like adding pages and using as a setting programme) the problem is you havnt got two camps trying to out do each other now....

but i honestly belive that what microsoft produce will be idiot proof which will make it easy to use but crap like powerpoint or word art ;) and no where near as powerfull as the abobemedia products... mind you they probally arent going for our market.
