SupraStar 3000
Just curious as I'm having problyms fitting a TSII hood as one of the vents is clashing with the plastic fan cover.
Robert
nope they are different mate. The N/A doesnt have a hole for the small fan that the TT has
Robert
not sure if there are anyother differences mate, could be if your having problems.
SupraStar 3000
Thanks Ral, would that effect its position and/or profile on the top service as I can't get the hood to close properly
Robert
you never know Ed, it could affect the position, never fitted the n/a shroud i had for my old TT so couldnt say for sure mate. You sure you have it located right mate? maybe its too far up? did it close with the stock bonnet?
SupraStar 3000
yes, I've fitted a standard hood on this car before without any probems The TSII has 6 vents and the last one hits the plastic trim. The hood fits ok except around the fan as its pushed upwards.
Robert
think the problem might be with the bonnet then mate, hate when things like this happen. Hope you get it sorted mate or you will have to sell the bonnet.
SupraStar 3000
cheers mate. I hope so too,... waited so long for it
Robert
another problem is, you can really make a custom fan shroud as it mihgt hit the fan, although it depends on how much it is hitting on the bonnet, say a few mm would be ok to make a custom shroud but if the shroud is 5cm too high then there wont be much you can do. SupraStar 3000
custom fan shroud sounds complicated
Steve W
D'ya mean THIS bit of shroud ? the large round bit actually covering the fan blades ?? believe that's same on both ?? no reason why that bit would be different, or do you mean the metal shield by the horn further forward, STILL think that bits the same too ?? SupraStar 3000
thats it. The right pic showing the round section around the fan.
Steve W
Yes mate, the SAME bit on the TT pic TOO ! ! But on the TT the standard intake is obviously removed, The ROUND big bit is the same. you sure it's THAT that's stopping it ?? seems unlikely ? Homer
If anyone can supply me with a model number and frame number for an NA, I can check the part numbers and diagrams on epc. It should confirm if both are the same.

SupraHuman
Are you sure that the bonnet hits the shroud mate? When i fitted my TSII it would not close properly,it turned out that the bonnet latch was not "deep" enough so i had to file about 1.5mm off the latch for it to lock over the bonnet lock bars Got 2 bad pics to show what i mean, pic 1 showes your latch and pic 2 is where to file the 1.5mm. Hope this help and that your bonnet will fit mate.I looks the biz when fitten
SupraStar 3000
yes mate, I'm sure. see pics. (show marks where mesh has scratched black trim) First, the loops didn't locate into the clasp which was about 15mm out. I decided to radically change the hoop as it needed major ajustments to fit so I made to longer hoops as show in the pic. The hood now closes but hits the fan plastic. The clasps are adjusted to highst position but i didn't think of fileing them down. i may try this later. Thanks for the info guys
SupraStar 3000
AHHHHHH fcukin b@stards!! Don't need this on my birthday The hood stuck down. One loops has broken off and the pull is loose so can't realise the other loop Any ideas?
