RedM
The supplied adhesive backed hook and loop tape is shite. Tried some other adhesive pads. Shite too. Is it because of the coating on the dash surround? I'm thinking of a small square of Gaffa tape and then sticking the box to this with adhesive pads. I'm assuming Gaffa tape is okay to be stuck to the dash? Any other suggestions? Superglue?
Jake
What about a Hot glue gun? It should peel off with no mess when you want to - just warm it up with a hair dryer or similar.
TrickTT
I fixed my AVCR with velcro tape from B&Q. Hasn't fell off yet.
RedM
I'm wondering if it falls off because I've placed it next to the clock and it gets very hot there.
peter richards
strong tape should be ok , but make sure the dash is clean from silicone sprays and things
MR.B
Number plate tape is very strong stuff as is carpet tape. Not sure if it will take the coating off the dash though if you decide to remove it at a later date.
SimonB
You could take the box apart and fit the contents directly into the dash. That's the best way.

Kopite
I think Simon means takin the working parts out, cuttin a slot in your dash for them and fitting them that way - there's a few members that have done that i think (Dale?). Failing that, Lui fabricated a plate to mount it in a Din slot i think
JohnA
I use velcro normally, but if the car is left in the summer sun the glue will run and make a mess (easily cleaned with spirit but annoying nonetheless)
supragold
You could take the box apart and fit the contents directly into the dash. That's the best way. I like the sound of this. Anyone got pics of this done?
RedM
I have now tried gaffa tape. Didn't stick to the dash at all. Extra strong too FFS! Anyone know if I can use superglue on the fascia?
jamesmark
martin, i dont know what the box looks like but can you not get maybe peter to wire it or whatever into the box between the seats? by the way did you get a hold of him?
RedM
Sorted it with superglue. Hoorah. As for getting it wired in. I'll leave that until I have the interior done. For now, it looks alright and purposeful. Trying Peter right now.
SimonB
Here we go, here's a photo of mine. I took the adjuster, LED and launch control button out and drilled holes in the dash and mounted them direct like so...
