Paul Laing
I'm going to start saving up till next summer for some nice 18s, what sizes does everyone recommend? I had some 19s before on my last car with 9x19 and 9x10 fitment, same again?? I was hoping maybe i could go for 9.5x18 and 11x18, is this combo possible? I was originally hoping for 10x18 front and 12x18 rear, but these surely would never fit? Cheers, Paul
Supraguy
I just went to 19x9 and 19x10s. Just waiting on the damn slow boat from Japan! --> Envy
SkyJawa
quick edit needed chap - 9x10 and 10x10 - they are pretty small alloys reckon you might find some mini ones to fit - give it the real dragster look
Kevin Huntley
Paul, you could go for 9.5 x 18 F and 10.5 x 18 R by using the correct offsets without having to roll the arch's.
Paul Laing
Edited - cheers. Those sizes sound good Kevin, i'll just have to save up through winter for them, the spoiler and a nice black respray......Arghhhhh lol
Scooter
Kevin or Supraguy, what offset is recommended with 10" rears?
Supraguy
Actually, I am trying to get some info here. I dont know anything about offsets, but obviously need to know. Can anyone else here explain wtf it is for me?
Steve W2
I have got 9.5 x 18 F and 11 x 18 rear and my car lowered at least 30-35mm without any mods.
Scooter
As i understand it, basically standard offset is 50mm 10" rears will fit, but lower than 50 offset will move the inside of the wheel effectively away from the shock and the outside toward the arches. So your 10 x 18's may need to be less than 50 to avoid the shocks but say not less than 40 or they'd rub the arches. Note these are just examples i don't know the range. There is a spreadsheet that can tell you want won't fit and why but i'm just curious as to what is the recommended 'norm'
Supraguy
Ok, now this offset.. is it whats measured on the wheel and unchangeable? Or, how do I adjust the offset? Curious if Gaz or Kevin can gimme some info on these Racing Hart CR 19s and if the offset is correct for the Supra. Wish I had researched this a tad more before I went spending. Scooter
100% Gaz / Kevin will have got you the 'right' offset so you avoid any clearance prob's. But no its not changeable. Spacers can be used to move the wheel outwards, but are apparently best avoided if possible.
Kevin Huntley
Don't worry your in safe hands! We have taken care of the offset to ensure you get the best possible fitment:) All part of the service;) Originally posted by Supraguy Ok, now this offset.. is it whats measured on the wheel and unchangeable? It is difficult to say unless you can tell me, what wheel you are going for, what size tyres you intend using and to a certain extent what brakes you have. Just for information purposes around about +45 all round is a safe bet in terms of handling etc although it may not give the look you are after as it tends not to fully fill out the arch's. Guest mark_bond_007
How much is it to get a set of 9.5 x 18 F and 10.5 x 18 R, with a decent set of tyres? Is it possible to get a set for a £1000 or is it gonna be more like £2000?

Cheers for that kevin, i'm going for a 9" wide rear (245 tyre) so i'm worried about the wheels not filling the arches adequately. I was looking at getting a 45 offset but with 9's this will leave me half an inch less full in the arch (than the 10's & 45), so i'm leaning now towards the 38 offset option. Supraguy
Thanks Kev.. panic just set in for a sec. Any clue when that shipment is due? I got a UK brake upgrade done this week at Leons, and apparently my front alloys hit the calipers so they had to use spacers. So, the quicker with the new wheels.. the better!
