What size wheels to go for?

I'm going to start saving up till next summer for some nice 18s, what sizes does everyone recommend? I had some 19s before on my last car with 9x19 and 9x10 fitment, same again?? I was hoping maybe i could go for 9.5x18 and 11x18, is this combo possible? I was originally hoping for 10x18 front and 12x18 rear, but these surely would never fit?

Cheers,

Paul

As i understand it, basically standard offset is 50mm

10" rears will fit, but lower than 50 offset will move the inside of the wheel effectively away from the shock and the outside toward the arches.

So your 10 x 18's may need to be less than 50 to avoid the shocks but say not less than 40 or they'd rub the arches. Note these are just examples i don't know the range.

There is a spreadsheet that can tell you want won't fit and why but i'm just curious as to what is the recommended 'norm'

Ok, now this offset.. is it whats measured on the wheel and unchangeable? Or, how do I adjust the offset?

Curious if Gaz or Kevin can gimme some info on these Racing Hart CR 19s and if the offset is correct for the Supra. :( Wish I had researched this a tad more before I went spending.

It is difficult to say unless you can tell me, what wheel you are going for, what size tyres you intend using and to a certain extent what brakes you have.

Just for information purposes around about +45 all round is a safe bet in terms of handling etc although it may not give the look you are after as it tends not to fully fill out the arch's.

How much is it to get a set of 9.5 x 18 F and 10.5 x 18 R, with a decent set of tyres? Is it possible to get a set for a £1000 or is it gonna be more like £2000?

Cheers for that kevin, i'm going for a 9" wide rear (245 tyre) so i'm worried about the wheels not filling the arches adequately. I was looking at getting a 45 offset but with 9's this will leave me half an inch less full in the arch (than the 10's & 45), so i'm leaning now towards the 38 offset option.
