JohnA
Cats may adopt other children. It's not at all inconceivable that she found the little mouse and adopted it.
letmeshowyou
The owner says the nose, mouth and ears look like that of a mouse, but the rest of the body is that of a cat I take it the owner is blind then?
JohnA
Either that or craving for publicity. Dogs with puppies are not unknown to have adopted kittens either. They let them breastfeed, same as this cat may be doing with the little mouse.

JohnA
Isn't that a bit like a human adopting a pizza? No, it's like a human adopting a baby monkey. I've got somewhere a picture of a woman breastfeeding one. To a cat that has just given birth, a stray baby mouse is not always seen as 'food', more like a fellow lifeform in need. I used to have pictures of my dog, cat and mouse all sleeping together happily. If they've grown together they are like a family.
