RedM
Be careful if you have a usage limit set by your isp. Google Earth shifts huge amounts of data.

Thorin
From a geography point of view, NASA World Wind is much better (I also prefer the interface), from a zoom in and look at your back garden point of view, Google Earth rocks! Has anyone played find their Supra yet? Found mine parked up at my old work next to my mate MX-5.
jazz1
hey so you telling me with google earth you can find people cars and actually see people on the streets?
Thorin
I downloaded it, but i dont get any 3D stuff when zooming in. Just blurd colours! Do I need google earth plus for that? It takes a while to load the images in as you zoom in, but it may just be that there isn't High resolution imaging for your area yet, try zooming in to the centre of Leeds (or any major city). As for 3D, if you go to say New York, then turn on the Buildings, it overlays 3D representation of all the skyscrapers etc., you can then tilt the map and fly between them, very cool. Also try looking at a big mountain range (or Grand Canyon for example), then tilt the map again and scroll around.
Thorin
hey so you telling me with google earth you can find people cars and actually see people on the streets? Well you can sort of make out people as dots, but it's not high enough detail to actually recognise anyone. As for car's I'm 99% sure it's mine, looks the right shape, and I always parked next to my mates MX-5 (which is easy to see in the car park, blue with black canvas roof). http://earth.google.com/ http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/
chilli
google earth and google hacks are great! Have you seen the nuclear test area in the nevada desert? It's mind boggling (some great google hacks and links around). Even more relavant since we went and saw "The hills have eyes" last night - a disturbing film lol!
