SupraStar 3000
I had that day off work to clean the Supra. Whilst outside I had radio1 on and the news raported a major fire in NY. As I switched on the TV the 2nd aircraft hit! The rest is history

RedM
ANyone thought about how he made the decision to jump? That or burn to death although at that point he would have had no idea the entire building would fall. I can't believe he jumped thinking he might live so what motivated (for want of a better word) him. An awful day.

Shaun.
Watching it now. It's good to remember the horrors that people went through that day, it should not be forgotten. Very, very sad. Shaun.

Daston
indeed it was a terrible day still doesnt seem real some how. The only thing that got my back up was the Americans saying that it was far worse than the blits! But hey I can forgive them they are after all american

Scoboblio
I was asleep after a night shift the day it happened. The first thing I knew about it was when my sister came home in the middle of the afternoon having been evacuated from work. I think Time magazine printed a picture of a young couple holding hands as they jumped.... the sort of image that stays with you forever
Charlotte
Remember it like it was yesterday. Can't believe the coroners office in New York were telling people there were no 'jumpers' rather than except how bad things really got, i mean how stupid do they think people are. Also, i know this is really cynical but, why are they showing this documentary now? - its not an anniversary, is America about to invade another country again and trying to win support? Gazboy
I work for a newspaper, in the press hall. I was working that Tuesday, and I remember vividly the events of that day like it was yesterday. I remember walking back from the shop thinking what a gorgeous blue sky afternoon it was. I got to the hush hut where someone was talking about hijackers had flown two planes into each other over the atlantic. We don't have TV's in the presshall, the nearest was too far away, so I was told to find a radio- I couldn't believe what I heard (by now the first tower was down), I had to carry on working, and went back to hear an update that both towers were gone and the pentagon had been hit, and three more planes were unaccounted for. I was relaying this info to my workmates, some of who'm simply didn't believe me, so I told them to go hear for themselves- they came back with news of the 4th plane crashing into the field. As you could imagine, work went absolutely mental, we got all 12 presses ready for the Mirror and Independent by 5pm (about 3 hours early). I remember driving home with mental images of the days events that I hadn't even seen yet, listening to Foxy on Capital Radio. Got home and switched on Sky News and my jaw hit the floor.... I can't believe he jumped thinking he might live so what motivated (for want of a better word) him. I was wondering about that too. I think maybe some people (the jumpers) stayed in the building until they couldn't breathe any more and then before succumbing to the smoke they jumped and hoped for a miracle. What an awful way to go

What an awful way to go There's no way anyone would have jumped in a bid to live. They'd have jumped for a quicker death- although it was the longest 10 seconds of their lives.....
