fitting Boost Guage

guys,

I'm following the guide to fit a boost gauge from the mkiv supra site

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/boostguage/bg.htm

and attempted a dry run last night. However I've hit my first snag....

step 10a ... punch hole through small yellow groomet by the clutch ...

I have no small yellow grommet, heck I've not even got a clutch pedal.

Where should I be lkoing to run stuff through to the engine bay. I'm also going

to be runnnig a power lead for the ICE soon so I guess it would be ideal to run it through all in one hit ?

it was getting dark last night though, so If you assue me it's there then I shall take another long look at lunch.

Cheers

Paul

if u dont have a clutch, there will b a black grommit in the engine bay filling the hole where it would b. this is the easiest way in. u can also come into the cabin through the wing and the yellow grommit but this is a bastard.

its about the size of a 50p coin if i remember under bonnet at bulkhead so close to drivers. think its near the break cylinder. its about halfway down. i fitted mine and i aint to good at stuff but i will give it a go.

have a look again

mine was black on my auto

not far from turbo at rear of engine on the big flat bit of bodywork.

  • 7 months later...

My alarm cable goes through that hole on the driver side, I used the passenger side one for a 12v wire, it's the same on both sides except my passenger one was a bare metal hole (wasn't sure about putting a wire through that!!!).

Hopefully be fitting a boost gauge soon, might have to use the same route, Except the pipe'll be on the wrong side then. :conf:

Didn't even need to take the wheel and lining off either!! (Cut my hand to shreds though!).

Does anyone fancy coming down to Hayling and helping me out when I get round to having a go? I'm not too confident about it!!
