Ian W
afternoon chaps my mate has an Audi A3 1.8T and has recently noticed that it's started making a noise that it didn't previously. says it's when he lets his foot off the pedal after accellerating (i thought that this would be normal but he said it never used to do it). car is performing as normal so i just told him to keep and eye/ear on it for any deterioration. any ideas? ps he says it's not like a hiss or 'pssh' sound you'd get from a BOV but more of a faint 'whirring' sound.....difficult to describe a sound i know. cheers
Alex
Big end on it's way out? Vibration from a loose heat shield? Wheel bearing? Warped brake? Wheel out of balance? Pretty much anything that rotates...get it to a garage.
Ian W
reckons the sound is coming from the turbo itself (or somewhere near there)
