Syed Shah Posted March 15, 2006 Share Posted March 15, 2006 I adore Mastiffs, my friend had one when I was a kid, she was the best dog ever, she never just "gave up" out walking although the owners used to worry she might when we took her out. She was more like my dog we spent so much time together, did everything I asked her to. I moved away and didn't see the family for a good few years, was passing so I thought I'd chance dropping in... rang the door. No barking, thought "oh no" person answered and I said "Hello, how are you?" and from the back of the house Defa went nuts, absolutely nuts, thought she was going to break the door down! Even her owners were suprised that she remembered me just from my voice. Sadly she was put down a few years later Don't think I could risk having one in case they didn't compare. Very similar the Dogue de bordeaux and the Bull Mastiff, always thought when it came out, that the Turner and Hooch dog was a Bull Mastiff. Haha, no matter how old you are, a Mastiff is always going to look huge, is funny viewing peoples reactions. Most people don't think dogs grow that big! Most people don't think dogs grow that big! Sorry, what I meant was that now when I see mastiffs they are nowhere near as big as I remember.
