On the subject of 'Supras always welcome' I going to arrange a Supra meet at TIC for Saturday January 11th 2002. I wont risk organising it for before xmas cos gettin past Lakeside and Bluewater would be a total nightmare with all the xmas shoppers queueing to get in.

So assuming the 11th is okay with J anf F1 then we can make it a date. Leons car is running pretty well now so I will try and get him along as well.

Ooo... Loads of questions...

Justin, where is your place?

What time is best for you Keith/Justin? - I'm working on Saturday but may be able to leave a little early.

Beers. Any favourites?

JB, What/where is TIC? (Please don't let it be anything too obvious!)

Is that invitation open to everyone?

Sorry to be joining this thread a bit late.

I have a UK spec Supra, and a Lexus GS300 with 18" wheels, do you want me to try a Lexus wheel on the Supra ??

I dont think they'll fit as the Supra callipers look way bigger than the Lexus, especially the front's, i reckon they're still 2 Pots..

I wont be able to try till next Saturday now, but i'd be more that happy to.

Justin. - can you get pads for a GS300 ??

Dean..

Got a feeling the GS300 pads are the same size as the J-spec Supra (two pot) ones.

I thought they shared the same brake pads as the  NA, these pads will not last long on a TT

I think the GS300 pads are the same SIZE as the Jap Spec Supra TT, The original Toyota GS300 pads would probably not be the same material (softer/quieter?) as the J-spec Supra TT, but if you buy after market ones then they should be the same material whatever  car they are for (e.g. Poerterfield R4S pads are all the same material for every car, which is why the Type R stops so quick pads are bigger than J-spec Supra ones).

Dean

I have some brand new TRD 9270S fast road pads (Supra   93.5~  JZA80(16inch), Soarer   91.5~ , Aristo   91.10~, Altezza   98.10~, Mark II/Chaser/Cresta   92.10~, Celsior   92.8~94.9 ) in the garage if you are interested. I can send them to you if you want to check out the size.

Matt- F1 is very easy to find , its on the A21 opposite the

main entrance to Brands Hatch.

TIC is the name of the best HKS/Blitz dealers in the world ;-)

view the website at www.torqueic.com

Pads- im 99.9% sure the GS3000 pads are the same as the J-spec

TT. I could do great value Ferodo, or EBC greenstuff which stop

you pretty quick but arent that kind to discs.

As for the Jan meet, I can tell you now, that is fine.

Lovely little road outside the shop, so lovely that

we did 160mph 4 up on Saturday in Christians supra....

We are also organising a nitrous open day soon,

will be demonstrating loads of cars weve fitted nos

too, Redline mag are coming with a fit model too......

CORRECTION - the date will be the 12th of Jan which is a saturday and not the 11th. Stupid calendar on the wall behind me has a Saturday as the last day of the week....doh.

So thats the 12th Jan for the TIC Shop meet. maps etc due to go in www.mkivsupra.net/events soon.

Hang on, I'm confused now. I thought, Justin, you were sharing the motorcycle gear outlet within the grounds of Brands, next door to the Ferrari body shop at the Paddock entrance.

Or is it the shop along the A20, opposite side of road from Brands, with a big tarmac forecourt. and lots of Swanley rudebwoi motors outside. (Which is where I used to buy the air ducting from)

Dean, I don't want to put you to any trouble, or keith/Justin for that matter. So, yes, if you don't mind and you think you have the same wheels as me, would you mind trying one of the fronts for me?

If you don't have the time perhaps I could still meet up with Keith and Justin if that's ok with you two?

I don't mind either way. I just wanna know if I can get the UK 4 pots inside my wheels.

:) thanks :)

Right, just to put an end to the confusion :o

I am based in Ashford, Kent during the week

where I concentrate on the mail order side of things.

Phone number 01233 500384.

The retail side is based at Formula 1 , which is the large shop

on the A20 (not A21) opposite (almost) the main entrance to Brands

(not the rear entrance ).

Currently, im only there on Saturdays, which is the busy day.

So, Rob, it is the shop you mentioned above with the large tarmac

front, and not next to the Ferrari dealer.

Matt

THEY FIT !!!

Damn they look fine too, i was quite tempted to change the whole lot over.

But we wouldn't want two supras with Lexus wheels would we :)

I didn't try the 10" rears but there'll be no problem there. The fronts have about 10mm clearance.

Thanks very much Dean. You should have tried the 10" rears on one side cause they do look good. But then I am biased! ;)

Justin, Guess we'd better talk then... I'd want to come over and see you about it though. My biggest concern is that big installs take up lots of time, and I don't get too much of that. - I still havn't even got rid of that poxy standard cassette deck yet!

I'll arrange to get over to F1 early in the new year... Don't panic, it'll have to be sooner than later, as I don't have much left in the way of brake pads and I'm not going to pay out for a set of pads if I intend to change the whole set-up.

Thanks to Keith as well for offering to try my wheels on his car...
