hadyn
Im in the market for a smart and fairly economical(compared to a supra) saloon. Im currently torn between a 2000 A4 or A6. What is the better car?My budget is between £4-5.5k - am i likely to get a guddun for this money? Any opinions greatly valued!
jamesmark
you are likely to get a high mileage one for that, but on the up side it will be motorway miles and fsh, however if you wanted something around the same lines and sometimes more toys than the audi have you had a serious look at the mondeo or the vectra? hadyn
Other options are BM 3/5 series or a Lexus IS200

Robert
ah very true mate. Good luck with the new car which ever one you pick.
jamesmark
the cars that you have picked will all be high mileage, but a 328 bmw would be a good choice as long as its the 3 door coupe and as long as its the sport version with tc and air con
Snooze
...a 328 bmw would be a good choice as long as its the 3 door coupe.... If you get a 328, don't get a '95 whatever you do!!!! My last car was a '95 328. Apparently they have a flaw which causes valve stem seals to wear overly quickly, which is a very expensive repair job - wasn't worth getting fixed on mine so I carried on running it and it ended up going up in flames! A new 328 was re-issued in '96 and these ones aren't showing the same problem, apparently...... Good luck with the car whatever you get! Alex
I'd get an A4TDi - quick, reliable and very economical...that VAG1.9Tdi engine is a real work horse. I'd have one... You could get an A6 but only if you NEED the extra space, cause it's bigger and therefore more expensive to run.
