afennell
Hi, just having a few problems removing the rear discs. The callipers are all off, so should the discs just come off with some gentle tapping? Or do you need to release the handbrake shoes? sorry if this sounds dim. thanks
RobSheffield
releasing handbrake shoes can help, back them off with the adjuster. but you will need most likely to use two bolts in the threaded holes on the mounting surface of the disc. iirc they are M8 or M10 thread. merckx
Definately wind back the handbrake, if you force them off you may damage the handbrake mechanism. The lip that has been created in the drum can make them difficult to remove.
mawby
Showed it the club hammer!Oh no! I did that on one of mine and bent some spring-holdy-thingy on the hand break. When I had put everything back on there was a constant metallic 'clink' on every rotation. Had to take it all apart and replace the bent bit. Was not impressed but learnt my lesson. merckx
I bent one of the levers when I did the van, I've learnt my lesson too!
