SkyJawa
At least its not a Renault - they're even worse!
RobSheffield
i used to work in Renault service on front desk the problems i identified were the nobheads in the workshop who dont give a damn about anything or anyone. i give them the proper instruction as the customer gave me, they do what they feel like and midiagnose 99.7% of it about to go to Toyota to get them to sort out the wheel bearing they replaced (it is so comically insecure as to make me laugh, if i hadnt driven 60 miles like that...nobheads)

toyotasuprauk
Its not just citreon its french cars, and its probably a lot of main dealers too. £900 though ouch!
Willson
I have had problems with 2 different Toyota dealers saying i needed things doing when i didnt. My current Honda dealer has been great so far (2 years).
Ark
Your basic problem was that you whinged a bit on the phone. Sometimes you really have to rip into them - threaten to contact Citreon head office - that can result in them losing their dealership status - watchdog, trading standards... OK so you can come across as being a complete nob, but if they were about to let you drive away with a dangerous vehicle because they didn't fix the right bit, then are somewhat justified. You are never a complete nob when you are standing up for your rights, and when you are right. Throw the Sale of Goods Act at them
rik
Yeah, not impressed with citroen. Took my berlingo for a re-call thing, and decided to let them service it while it was there. I asked if they could supply a courtesy car and they said no problem. When i returned to pick up my van they said there was a charge of £20 for the car, plus 20 or 30p for every mile i'd done over 100. And i'd gone to Bedford then Sussex that day from norwich!!! Don't know if this is normal as i've never had a ourtesy car before, but i'm damn sure they should have told me this before. Also on collection, the guy advised me that the front pads only had about 1-2ooo miles left!!! Why the hell didn't they change them then? ManwithSupra
I used to have a Saxo........i will never out of choice have a French car again, it cost me £2k in repairs in 2 months, Gearbox went twice, Driveshaft went, head gasket went, flywheel exploded, destroyed clutch twice, air bag light suddenly came on?? er and er i think thats about it. Bob
My little AX is vile. The engine and gearbox hasn't had a problem in 151k miles though. Admittedly, it is made of plastic and everything else keeps falling off. And the headlights both pop out if I go over a speed bump too fast or close the bonnet too heavily. And I have to open the door to close the boot to save a window popping out. Actually, yes I agree with you , Citroens are shite.
