Urgent - Problem with standard alarm

UK '94 Auto TT - Standard (Scorpion 5000 series?) alarm.

Parked up last night - set alarm, went to bed....

Disabled alarm this morning, drove to work...

All going well so far....

Parked up at work and armed the alarm...

ALARM ALARM ALARM ALARM!!!

As soon as the indicators stop flashing the alarm goes off for some reason. I've checked the toggle on the side of the fob and it does it regardless of position. The red button still sets the alarm off at will and I've had a look at the unit under the bonnet and everything seems to be as it normally is - ie it's not full of water or anything.

I also have a Vecta immob on the car but again it seems to be working normally and up until today has been flawless.

The car is now outside with the doors locked but the alarm not armed - I'm hoping it won't self-arm and cause me to have to go out to it constantly as colleagues sent emails round asking who owns it :(

In the meantime can anyone help with any suggestions for a quick solution to this issue - I can't leave the car unarmed!

(answers of "you should buy a clifford" etc are not useful at this moment in time due to all available funds being tied up in a wedding and house move)

HELP!! :( :(

Sadly I had a look at this pretty much straight away - the rubber boot was on OK and when I took it off to look under it was all happy and dry :(

The switch under the bonnet (I presume it is a switch to sense if the bonnet has been opened anyway) seems to be moving OK and doesn't appear to be wet....

The only issue the car has at the moment is that I need to adjust the catch on the passenger door so that it closes flush - carried some wheels to a trackday and it pushed it out a little - can't see this being the problem though as it's been like that for a couple of (lazy) weeks now.

The horror :(

Thanks for the input so far everyone.

To be honest I'm not sure - I'll dig my handbook out tonight and have a look unless anyone can enlighten me in the meantime.

I checked the boot BTW - it's shut, all doors shut, bonnet shut, nothing blocking the sensors on the a pillars... no spiders in the sensors...

I'm hoping that it will just get warmer and something that has magically broken will fix itself.... I suspect it won't happen but I can hope :(

I had this on my UK spec on a very cold morning. I tried opening and slamming the doors, boot and bonnet and it still did it so I just locked the car with the key and went away. Came back at lunch time, tried it again and there were no problems at all, and it hasnt happened since (that was about 6 months ago).

I'll cross my fingers in the hope my problem is similar - strangely it's a lot warmer today than it has been though - 0C on Tues, 1C on Wed and 2C today according to the in car temp thingy - could be a different kind of cold I suppose ;)
