Burna Posted March 8, 2006 Share Posted March 8, 2006 I haven’t been as angry in years as I am right now, here is the reason why, unbelievable as it is. We have installed on our house a colour CCTV system which covers all sides of our property and is triggered by motion detectors to start the tape recording. So last Tuesday Jo (my girlfriend) told me she had noticed that two of her pressure monitor valve caps were missing from her car and asked me to check the CCTV tape. Right at the beginning of the tape I see two thieving scumbag clampit kids in broad daylight stealing the two valve caps they can manage to unscrew! I check the tape further and find them trying to steal mine as well when it gets darker! They didn’t manage to get any of mine as they are locked on real tight, but I’m more than pissed off by this point and wondered what the hell else they have been up to and start to check the camera footage further. The next bit is where my rage gets kicked up a notch! I scan through the tape on fast forward and watch the usual goings of normal everyday life, cats running about, people walking by, the postman delivering the mail and then taking a piss right outside my front door….. WHAT THE F*%K!!! I rewind the tape and watch it at normal speed this time and couldn’t believe my eyes! After posting some mail through my front door which is on the side of the house, the fat lardy b%*tard moves about a foot away from my front door, faces the back garden (and the camera) and starts to urinate all over my path! After he finishes he walks back towards the front of my house throws some mail on the floor, zips up his fly, picks up the mail, and closes my gate. Oh thanks for being so considerate and closing my gate for me after you had finished defacing my property you w*nker! Where I live I have nothing but fields behind my house and no houses opposite just bushes and trees. At the end of my cul-de-sac there is a path that leads up to the fields, so there is no excuse for him doing it on my property as he only has to walk about 20 metres to the path at the end of the cul-de-sac if he has been caught short. As you can imagine after seeing this I’m about ready to kill someone and start to plot how I’m going put this guy in hospital tomorrow when I take a morning off work. Jo comes home and after showing her the tape she suggests we phone the police. Now I have never used the police before when situations arrive, I prefer to sort it out myself, but this time Jo insists that the police will definitely be able to do something and he won’t get away with it, so I grudgingly made the call. Eventually they pick up a copy of the tape and say they will get back to me. They got back to me yesterday saying there is nothing they can do as he hasn’t committed an offence! WHAT!!! Because it was on private property, and no one was at home, and because a member of the public didn’t witness it taking place there is sod all they can do! They have visited the local post office depot and they are handling it internally. The postman’s line manager arranged to see us at home this morning and told us the postman has been moved to another round and the matter will be investigated. I told him I wouldn’t accept anything less than dismissal as it is clearly gross misconduct. He understood and would have to pass it up the line to the depot office manager. The office manager phoned me later on this morning and told me because the police didn’t press charges they can only take so much action, f*%king great! Spoke to the police again to see if there is anything at all they can do and they are just as frustrated as me as they did want to arrest him after seeing the tape, but couldn’t find an offence to charge him with. THE LAW IS AN ASS. I have no idea what I can do now except wait for the post office to give him a slap on the wrist. I just hope that none of you live in the Stourbridge area and he is now delivering your mail on his new round. All of you keep an eye on your postman. Thanks for letting me rant, I needed to get it off my chest. If you have any advice on what action I can take besides me wanting to take a baseball bat to him, please let me know. Try not to go exclusive unless its a good fee, say you have detailed tape and willing to give them a copy. If you have video of it,then the bigger papers, may well hold the tape for future story then when a story comes out regarding Royal Mail thats big, this will be released 2 days later. I personal apology would be a good start. I guess because they are all nice people plus, as we live above the village shop, post office, sorting office place we get all our mail saved for us and ready to collect with the morning paper. It's funny when you get through to their customer services for the fifth complaint and hear the standard bullshit:) Last complaint I got a book of stamps for about £2! Tight arses. I'm aiming for a holiday for two in compensation so I hope they keep f*cking up:D Seriously though I would try and get some money off them or the newspapers as they couldn't give a shit about you or your property. No matter what I demand the post office management will follow procedure and come to a decision which is now out of my hands. Going to the major papers and notify Postwatch will be my next move, thanks for the advice, and also the jokes made me laugh feel a little more chilled now. Believe me I know the consequences if I was stupid enough to do that now, happy I chose to take another route this time and I'll see what happens. I do feel the police did everything they could, told me they are going to have a chat with him but that's all they can do. All you can do now is corner him when he's around and threaten to break his bones/teeth/whatever if he ever disrespects your house and/or your mail is ever late again. He's not going to be working my round again, I feel sorry for the people on his new round though. The local councilor who is a friend of ours is bringing the matter up at a meeting tonight also.
