Guest jaybe1
Im just after buying a 95 supra tt. Problem is when i floor it in 3rd gear upwards and hit boost the engine dies and orange engine light comes on. Could it be fuel cut ? I have a HKS evc 4 and dont know how to reset it. It boosts to 1.24 bar and even with controller off still does this. Any suggestions as to why this is happening ?

Guest jaybe1
Still on stock turbos Greddy fmic(huge), boost controller thats all i know as it was brought in from japan. Boost setting were set at 0.9 bar low and 1.75 high but somehow i doubt it would run that kinda boost. When at 0.9 it still boosts to 1.24 cant get it to stable
supRo
Can you switch the Boost contoller off? > What boost does it make with it off? Are both the cats out or still in place?
Guest jaybe1
both cats still intact. still seems to boost beyond 1 bar when its off im baffled !!!
Alex
When you say dies do you mean cuts out completely...or it violently stops accelerating?
Guest jaybe1
violently stops accelerating. Thats why i was thinking fuel cut
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
you hope it doesnt want to hit 1.75 bar lol
Guest jaybe1
Well it'll be a spectacular end if it does hit 1.75. Imagine the power just before the bang !!!
AJI
sounds like fuel cut. 1.75 bar is enough to send your turbos through the bonnet 1.2bar is generally considered a max safe level.
michel lane
1.75 !!haaaaaaaaaaa no wonder you got problems it must be going to 1.4bar ......
Guest jaybe1
I obviously haven't tried 1.75 thats just what the high setting is set to. Dont know how to reset the boost controller though
Angarak
Im sure I've read on this forum that running higher-than-stock boost with both cats in place will put the stock tubbies under more 'strain' (possibly not good for their longevity). Might be an idea to turn the boost down to stock level until you decat it.
Guest jaybe1
Mite have to take out the boost controller cause it still seems to be boosting higher even when turned off. Maybe its still getting a signal from it. Is this possible ?
