ellis
Here's one - the heart of every animal, including insects and humans, beats the same amount of times before they snuff it. This is why flys live for 48 hours and giant turtles for bloody ages! Can't remember the number of times (more than 10 I reckon!!) but I'm sure some degree-laden boff-mongrel will come along with the number shortly! Here's a good one : The Earth travels at 66,000mph round the sun, and reflects 39% of light from the sun.

ellis
Indeed that is true - the reflective quality of a heavenly body is called Albedo - 1.0 being total - the Earth's is 0.39 (and was also the title of an album by Vangelis).

Albedo 0.39 is a great track. Bought that album about 20yrs ago. Vangelis wrote some pretty original stuff.
Lewis
polar bears: All polar bears are left handed (taken from the fact that they strike the snow with the left front paw first when hunting for seals) All polar bears are black (their skin is black - the fur is transluscent, the air trapped in the hollow hairs is what makes polar bears look white) Polar bears are classed as a marine mammal Polar bears are the worlds largest land predator they have hair on their feet
