Pete
Shit dude! Mark (Kip) was saying the other day he's not seen you for a while. Now we know why How did it happen?
letmeshowyou
Sorry to hear this Haydn. Really can't believe how low that offer was. Are you *SURE* they don;t have it down as a mk3? Even a joke of a company couldnt expect u to replace a mk4 for that surely!?
JamieP
Unfortunately, I had an accident in my tt supra about 2 weeks ago Which resulted in the car being written off/total loss. (Despite the car was driveable after the accident) I have been chasing my insurers about this and after todays morning phone call they offered me only 2.3k for my 1993 RZ Twin Turbo with 78k miles!!! I have now sent autotrader adverts of similar spec cars to them and its been dealth with by a 'senior claims person'. To say im devastated is an understatement. I simply cannot believe they can offer me such a low figure.............Lets hope they get back to me with a better figure 2moro......... sorry to here this mate
hadyn
Spoke to the engineer/assessor bloke directly who said that they have to go by the 'glass guide' but my car looked like it was 'worth a lot more' He said book price was 2.3k.....I've got my suspicions he thought he was a mk3
letmeshowyou
can someone like Jurgen confirm what glass's lists for a mk4 of that age?
Conrad
The Glass guide? Surely a Trader on here has a copy of this and can prove this assessor wrong. Do they even value imports in the Glass guide?
hadyn
That would be a great help.
Pete
Can I assume it's called the glass guide because they came up with the valuations after ten empty pint glasses?
Steve
What happened mate?
hadyn
Can I assume it's called the glass guide because they came up with the valuations after ten empty pint glasses? Probably.
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
trade price for an auto tt is around 4-5k to 5k, am sure this is a mistake by them lets hope its not insured as a mkIII send dane stone a pm and see what valuation he got for his am sure he was excpecting around 7k ish
hadyn
Its insured as a Supra Twin Turbo on the docs. Surely they cant mistake this as a mk 3?
Pete
You're avoiding the big question
hadyn
Back end just flew out doing about 50mph in a national speed limit zone. Surface was terrible and the car clipped the central reservation, smashing the front bumper and buckling two rims. Never thought that would be a write off No other cars involved, just a freak accident....
Pete
Sure it wasn't a blow out or something wrong with the tyre? Strange behavior for a Supra. Sorry dude, it was a nice car as well.
hadyn
Nope, no blow out.

Pig
You going to get another one if you get a good enough payout??
Jezz
Thats a pathetic offer. I'd give u more than that for salvage! You sure that wasnt a 'keep the car' offer?
letmeshowyou
even if they have it as supra twin turbo they could still have it down as a mk3... it;s happened to loads of people even though they thought they had it insured as the right thing. At this sort of valuation its worth considering if it actually is a write off (from what you've said of the damage!) I think you need words with them! and yes glasses does do imports...
